stuffed masala bhindi, how to make masala bhindi

Okra, bhindi or lady finger whatever you call it can be made in different ways but stuffed masala bhindi is my childhood favorite dish. Masala bhindi is generally made with stuffing spices in bhindi or okra. This tangy, spicy okra can be served as side dish or even as main course dish with raita, curd etc. It best goes with paratha, roti  or poori. Lets start this recipe which your family and guests are going to love.


  • 1/2 Lb Okra or Bhindi (250 gms)

  • 1 Large Tomato

  • 1 Tsp Turmeric Powder

  • 1 Tsp  Red Chilly Powder

  • 1 Tsp  Dry Mango Powder(Amchur)

  • 1 Tsp   Pomegranate Seed Powder (Anardana Powder)

  • 1 Tsp  Garam Masala

  • 1 Tsp  Coriander Powder (Dhaniya Powder)

  •  Oil For Cooking

  • Salt To Taste


Wash and dry bhindi . Cut top and tail of whole bhindi. Slit them lengthwise. Keep aside.


Now in a bowl add all the dry spices and little water to make a smooth paste neither runny nor thick.


Take each bhindi and stuff it with prepared masala paste with the help of knife.


Now heat oil in a pan and put whole stuffed bhindi in it.


Stir well and cook covered on low flame. Stir occasionally. When cooked add chopped tomato in it.


Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes. Your tangy spicy masala bhindi is ready to serve with roti,pratha,naan or poori.
